How to improve your website quality score
A prioritized improvement plan across SEO, performance, security, accessibility, trust, hosting, email, and AI readiness.
A higher total is not the goal by itself. The useful goal is a website that people can reach, understand, trust, and use safely. The score helps expose where that experience is weakest.
Before changing anything, read what the score means and save the current pillar breakdown as a baseline.
Start with blockers, not easy points
Prioritize issues by user and business impact:
- Availability and security: broken HTTPS, unsafe redirects, outages.
- Crawlability and identity: accidental noindex, missing canonical signals, unclear ownership.
- Usability: inaccessible controls, severe mobile or loading problems.
- Enhancements: structured data, richer previews, AI-oriented discovery files.

SEO
Give each important page a descriptive title and a concise summary. Use one preferred canonical URL, keep navigation crawlable, and link related pages with meaningful labels. Ensure the sitemap contains canonical public pages rather than every filtered combination.
Structured data should describe visible facts. Do not add ratings, authors, products, or organizations that the page does not actually present.
Performance
Compress oversized images, reserve their dimensions, reduce unnecessary scripts, and cache stable assets. Measure representative pages on mobile conditions. A fast homepage does not excuse a slow service or article template.
Treat third-party widgets as part of your performance budget. Remove integrations that cost more than the value they provide.
Security
Serve the complete site over HTTPS and redirect consistently to one host. Keep frameworks and dependencies supported. Add appropriate security headers after testing them, especially content restrictions that can break required resources when deployed blindly.
Never expose private API keys in browser code or public repositories.
Accessibility
Use semantic headings, labels, landmarks, and buttons. Support keyboard navigation, visible focus, sufficient contrast, text resizing, and reduced motion. Test forms with errors, menus, dialogs, and cookie controls—not only static paragraphs.

Trust
State who operates the website, how to make contact, and what terms apply. Keep prices, delivery areas, qualifications, and claims current. Use real policies rather than empty templates.
For local or regulated services, include the details a cautious customer needs to verify before acting.
Hosting and email
Remove redirect chains, monitor uptime, and verify DNS changes carefully. Configure mail authentication appropriate to the domain and provider. Do not publish records copied from another service without understanding which system sends your mail.
AI readiness
Make important content available as clean HTML with stable URLs, headings, and explicit authorship. Keep robots and machine-discovery policies intentional. An extra AI file cannot rescue inaccessible, duplicated, or vague content.
